Building Surveyor (Islington Social Housing) Location: Islington, London (Conservation areas) Type: Temp-to-Perm Rate: £29/hour Output: 3-5 surveys / week The Role We need a true Building Surveyor (not stock condition or Clerk of Works) to deliver detailed repair specs for Victorian/Edwardian conservation-area properties (no flats/new builds) on our Islington social housing contract. Focus is external redecoration, roofing, sash windows, pointing, and general external envelope repairs using NHF SOR v6. Key Responsibilities Carry out 3-5 comprehensive surveys/week, photographing and marking up defect areas. Write detailed repair specifications and schedules of works using NHF SOR v6. Prepare clear technical notes, findings, and repair recommendations. Liaise with residents, contractors, and operational teams. Requirements Background: Social housing maintenance surveying on Victorian/Edwardian period stock. Tech Spec: Proven spec-writing experience with NHF SOR v6 and solid Building Regulations knowledge.
