Patchway Community School Role: Lettings Assistants (2 posts available) Contract: Part Time, Permanent, All Year Round Pay Scale: Grade 12 £26,016 per annum FTE (£5,273/£8,437 pro rata) We are seeking two reliable, enthusiastic and customer-focused School Lettings Assistants to support the operation of our school lettings programme. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with the public and helping to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for community users. Available Posts Post 1 7.5 hours per week – Saturday 8:30am to 4:30pm (£5,273 per annum) Post 2 12 hours per week – Monday and Tuesday 4:15pm to 10:15pm (£8,437 per annum) About the Role As a School Lettings Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting community and sports groups using the school's facilities outside normal school hours. You will ensure that facilities are opened, prepared, supervised and secured to a high standard, providing excellent customer service at all times. Key Responsibilities • Opening and closing school facilities for lettings users. • Preparing rooms, halls, sports facilities and equipment as required. • Welcoming hirers and ensuring facilities are ready for use. • Carrying out routine health and safety checks. • Monitoring site security and ensuring users comply with school procedures. • Assisting with basic cleaning and tidying of facilities following use. • Reporting maintenance, safeguarding or health and safety concerns promptly. • Providing a professional and helpful point of contact for community users. What We Are Looking For The successful candidates will: • Be reliable, punctual and trustworthy. • Have excellent communication and customer service skills. • Be able to work independently and use their initiative. • Be flexible and willing to support a range of community activities. • Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Previous experience in a customer service, facilities, caretaking or lettings environment would be advantageous but is not essential, as training will be provided. Please note that this role involves regular lone working, including opening and securing school premises, carrying out safety checks, and responding independently to issues that may arise during lettings periods. Applicants must be able to undertake these duties safely and effectively.
