Mental Health Assistant - Reading, Berkshire £95-£105 per day | ASAP Start | Full-Time | Long-Term Are you passionate about supporting children with their emotional wellbeing? This could be a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Assistant looking to gain valuable experience within a specialist school setting. A welcoming Reading primary school is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to support pupils with SEN and SEMH needs within a specialist Resource Base. The Role As a Mental Health Assistant , you will support pupils from Reception to Year 6 who may have Autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma-related behaviours and SEMH needs. Your role will include: Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing. Helping pupils build confidence and independence. Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement with learning. Developing strong, trusting relationships with pupils. Working alongside teachers, SEN staff and therapists. Supporting therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches. About You The ideal Mental Health Assistant will have: A caring, patient and empathetic approach. A genuine passion for supporting children and young people. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. An interest in psychology, counselling, therapy, education or social care. A relevant degree is desirable but not essential. What's on Offer?
