Maternity Nurse

A 3–4 month live-in Maternity Nurse role supporting a family with their second baby, primarily based in Jersey, with the possibility that the birth and initial part of the booking may take place in the UK. Job Summary This is a warm, family-focused role suited to an experienced Maternity Nurse who can bring calm, reassurance and strong newborn expertise while working collaboratively with Mum and helping the family settle into a natural rhythm with their new baby. Mum has not yet decided whether she will give birth in the UK or Jersey, so the successful candidate will need to be comfortable with some flexibility around the initial location. The majority of the booking will, however, be based at the family’s home in Jersey. The family also have a home in Northamptonshire. Mum will be having a Caesarean section and would value someone who can provide excellent newborn care while also supporting her recovery. Her first baby arrived four weeks early following pre-eclampsia, and breastfeeding was challenging. This time, she would love to breastfeed exclusively if possible, so strong breastfeeding knowledge and practical support will be especially important. With her first baby Mum followed a very baby-led approach, but this time she would like to introduce a little more structure, including encouraging self-settling and helping the family find a gentle, workable rhythm between the new baby and their six-year-old son.
