SALARY: MPS / UPR + SEN 1 APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: 2oth September 2026 INTERVIEW DATE: W/C: 5th October 2026 DESIRED STARTING DATE: ASAP Background information: The Leicester Partnership School is Leicester City Council’s Secondary Pupil Referral Service. We provide educational provision for young people who have a range of SEN and SEMH needs and some challenging behaviours, who are at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream education or who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education. Experience of working in a: • PRU or alternative provision setting • Special school • Mainstream school with significant SEN/SEMH provision • Similar specialist educational environment would be advantageous. You will need to hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification and have strong subject knowledge in Science. Experience of teaching GCSE and KS3 Science. As our Science Teacher, you will teach engaging and purposeful Science lessons to pupils across the relevant age and ability ranges. You will need to be creative and adaptable in your approach, finding ways to make Science accessible and interesting to pupils who may have previously disengaged from learning. You will: • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons. • Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of SEN, SEMH and individual learning needs. • Inspire pupils through practical, hands-on and relevant Science experiences. • Set high expectations for learning, behaviour and achievement. • Build positive relationships with pupils who may initially be reluctant to trust adults. • Use calm, consistent and effective behaviour-management strategies. • Support pupils who may become dysregulated or display challenging behaviour. • Assess, track and celebrate pupil progress. • Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and colleagues to provide a consistent approach. • Contribute to the wider life of the school and our pupils' personal development. • Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and a belief in their own abilities.
