Maintenance Assistant Salary: £13.25 - £15.14 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday (rota basis) Location: Residential Units across 4 locations in South East London Department: Maintenance Reporting to: Facilities & Estates Manager About the Role We are looking for a reliable and proactive Maintenance Assistant to join clients team supporting residential units across South East London. Working under the direction of the Facilities & Estates Manager, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, help ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, and contribute to the smooth running of the residential services. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine repairs and maintenance across multiple residential properties. Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritise urgent repairs. Undertake basic general building maintenance, including: Painting and decorating Basic maintenance and repairs Door, window and lock repairs Replacing light bulbs and fittings Assist in maintaining safe, secure, and compliant premises. Test and monitor fire alarms and other safety systems in line with company procedures. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed works. Ensure tools, equipment and materials are used safely and stored securely. Support external contractors when required and monitor work completed on site. Follow all company policies, including Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities. Promote the organisation's values of integrity, honesty, transparency and professionalism. What We're Looking For Essential Broad knowledge of general property maintenance and repairs. Experience in painting and decorating. Honest, reliable and trustworthy approach to work. Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling, lifting and working at height when required. Willingness to undertake training and ongoing professional development. Full UK driving licence. Desirable Experience working within residential care, supported housing or social care settings. C1 licence entitlement (D1 licence advantageous).
