Lunchtime Supervisor

Woodlea Primary Academy We are a unique one form entry primary school, set in our own woodland, surrounded by the Deadwater Valley Nature Reserve. We are a fully inclusive school and we work hard to ensure that each child is respected as a unique individual. Position Description We are looking for a calm, caring and friendly individual who enjoys working with children. You will need to be confident when dealing with children, have good communication skills, calm manner and be able to work well within a team. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate understanding/awareness of child behaviour and have an awareness of the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality in dealing with pupils. Previous experience working with children would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given. Duties include: Supervising children in our lunch hall, classroom or outside area Assisting with associated duties; cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean, ensuring pupil hygiene Ensuring positive behaviour at all times by encouraging good table manners and healthy eating Have a desire to support children through play and activities Ensuring any issues are dealt with in a positive manner in accordance with our school behaviour policy and procedures Administering basic first aid (training will be given), recording of incidents/accidents and maintaining appropriate records Supporting children with complex or medical needs Enjoys working outside to incorporate our passion for outdoor learning Maintain an awareness of school, national and statutory policies and requirements and apply these in the workplace Ability to keep children motivated and engaged To have a calm but firm approach To be flexible and willing to learn We can offer: A supportive team and an inclusive ethos A commitment to professional development for all staff The opportunity to be part of something special The University of Chichester Academy Trust You will be part of The University of Chichester Academy Trust, which is uniquely positioned to make a difference in the local educational landscape.
