Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and proactive Attendance Improvement Officer to join our busy team. The post holder will play a key role in monitoring, managing and improving student attendance across the school. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing attendance processes, identifying patterns of absence, and working closely with staff, students, parents and external agencies to support improved attendance outcomes. This position is critical in helping the school meet its attendance objectives and fulfil statutory responsibilities set by the Department for Education and the local authority. The Attendance Improvement Officer will work primarily within the main office alongside their line manager and the wider administrative team, each with their own areas of specialism, and as part of the broader Administrative Support Team, which also includes school admissions, reprographics and reception. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding, accuracy in record-keeping, and continuous improvement of the systems and procedures that support effective school attendance practice.
