Mandarin or Thai Speaking Butler Location: Dubai, UAE (Business Bay) Contract: Permanent, full time Hours: Rotational shifts, approximately 6am–3pm or 3pm–10pm, one day off per week Start date: Notice periods will be considered Salary: AED 15,000 per month, tax free Benefits: Shared accommodation provided in Business Bay, UAE residency visa, medical insurance, annual flights home, transportation to work, extensive international travel A private international family based in Dubai is seeking a formally trained Mandarin or Thai Speaking Butler to join their established private household team. This is a polished, front-of-house position within a UHNW environment, working across two residences in Dubai and travelling with the family internationally on a regular basis. Wardrobe management sits at the very heart of this role. The Role of the Mandarin or Thai Speaking Butler The household is professionally run under a House Manager, with two Butlers working on a structured rotation. The Mandarin or Thai Speaking Butler will provide full butler service to the Principals at home and while travelling, with particular ownership of an exceptionally large wardrobe collection held across both residences. This is a travelling position. The family move frequently, often weekly, with longer trips of twenty days to a month, and the successful Mandarin or Thai Speaking Butler will accompany them throughout. Wardrobe Management This is the defining element of the position. The wardrobes are extensive, spread across two apartments, and include significant couture, fine tailoring, leather goods and accessories. The Mandarin or Thai Speaking Butler will take full ownership of these collections: maintaining a detailed inventory and cataloguing system so that every piece is accounted for and instantly locatable; preparing and laying out outfits daily; and providing specialist care for delicate fabrics, couture pieces, fine knitwear, leather and outerwear. The role further covers steaming, pressing and hand-finishing to an impeccable standard, oversight of laundry and liaison with specialist dry cleaners, and managing repairs and alterations with tailors and cobblers. Handbag, shoe and accessory care and correct storage form a significant part of the work, alongside seasonal rotation and archiving between the two residences. Packing and unpacking for the family's frequent travel is a substantial responsibility in itself, requiring careful garment protection in transit, accurate luggage inventories, and re-establishing the wardrobe to the same standard on arrival. Further Responsibilities of the Mandarin or Thai Speaking Butler Full butler and front-of-house service to the Principals and their guests, including formal table service and hosting. Household administration, including paying bills, tracking expenses and maintaining accurate records. Managing household technology and digital administration with confidence — Apple devices, household apps, online accounts, deliveries, orders and bookings. Supporting private events and entertaining at home. Working closely with the House Manager and the second Butler to ensure smooth handovers and consistent standards across the rotation. The Ideal Mandarin or Thai Speaking Butler Formal butler training from a recognised butler school is essential, alongside previous experience in a UHNW private household or a comparable luxury environment. Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese or Thai is required, together with good working English. Hands-on wardrobe management and valeting experience at scale is what will distinguish the strongest applications. The family are looking for an educated, capable and discreet Mandarin or Thai Speaking Butler who is as comfortable handling household administration and technology as formal service and couture care. A stable career history is important; frequent short tenures will not be considered. Full flexibility to travel at short notice is essential. Candidates already based in the UAE are welcome, and the family are happy to support relocation for the right person.
