About the Role We are recruiting two reliable and practical Caretaker Drivers / Manual Labourers to support estate services in Lewisham, Greater London. This hands-on role combines caretaking, cleaning, manual handling and driving duties. You will help maintain safe, clean and welcoming communal areas while providing a responsive service to residents. Key Responsibilities Undertake caretaking, estate cleaning and general manual labour duties. Drive a vehicle of up to 3.5 tonnes safely and responsibly. Maintain communal areas, pathways, shrub beds and lawns to an agreed standard. Remove litter, bulky waste, offensive graffiti and other hazards within required timescales. Carry out minor communal repairs in line with health and safety requirements. Report repairs, damage, abandoned vehicles, illegal parking and tenancy concerns. Respond appropriately to incidents such as fire, flooding, burglary and lift breakdowns. Maintain accurate daily records, incident reports and service documentation. Safeguard keys, tools, plant, equipment and estate stores. Build positive working relationships with residents, colleagues and contractors. Essential Requirements Full UK driving licence and the ability to drive a 3.5-tonne vehicle. Previous cleaning, caretaking, estates or manual labour experience. Ability to undertake physically demanding work, including lifting and moving heavy items safely. Good basic literacy and numeracy skills. Confident working independently and as part of a team. Ability to communicate professionally with residents and respond to complaints. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and flexibly according to service needs. Understanding of health and safety, safeguarding and customer care responsibilities. Willingness to complete the required Disclosure and Barring Service check.
