Wittering Primary School is seeking a Pastoral Support Officer to play a vital role in supporting the pastoral provision across the school and wider school community, with a particular focus on safeguarding and child protection matters, provision of pastoral support and attendance.
Working hours are 25 hours per week, 5 hour per day, Monday to Friday.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting with safeguarding and child protection matters
Acting as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for the School
Acting as a member of the school’s Early Help Team
Liaising with external agencies and representing the school at attendance, safeguarding and family support meetings as required
Providing bespoke educational and pastoral support to small groups and individual children requiring additional support
Monitoring, analysing and reporting on pupil attendance, identifying concerns and implementing early intervention strategies
The successful candidate:
Has excellent organisational and administrative skills
Communicates confidently and sensitively with children, families and professionals
Can build positive relationships and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Can work independently while contributing positively to a wider team
Is confident using digital systems and maintaining accurate records
Has experience of working within a school environment, ideally in a safeguarding or pastoral role
Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics

Salary Range:
£18,075.36 - £19,964.58
Salary is dependent upon qualifications, skills and experience.
