About the role JN Bentley is offering an exciting opportunity for graduates in the Yorkshire area to join our Procurement team at our Head Office in Skipton. This role provides hands-on experience across procurement activities that are critical to the successful delivery of our engineering projects, including materials, subcontract procurement, plant and supplier management. You will be automatically enrolled into our bespoke Early Careers Development Programme; a 12-month scheme designed to enhance your skills, expand your network, and enrich your experience. You will develop practical procurement knowledge by supporting our buying teams, working with suppliers, engaging with operational teams and helping deliver value across our supply chain. The role is designed to build a strong foundation for a long-term career in procurement within a successful civil engineering business. You will gain experience across key areas of procurement, including: Materials procurement Subcontract procurement Supply chain management Supplier relationship management Procurement systems and purchase-to-pay processes Cost analysis and reporting Contract’s & Trading agreements Framework and preferred supplier arrangements Procurement with purpose, sustainability and social value What you’ll do Develop into a procurement professional with a strong understanding of materials, subcontract, plant and supplier management activities. Organise and schedule workload in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures, delegated authorities and purchase-to-pay processes. Support the identification of procurement efficiencies, cost savings and continuous improvement opportunities. Build effective relationships with suppliers, operational teams and internal stakeholders to support successful project delivery. Work closely with operational teams to understand project requirements and ensure procurement support is responsive, accurate and commercially aware. Prepare procurement reports, including spend analysis, supplier performance information and cost comparisons. Work with project teams to understand client, programme and specification requirements when sourcing goods, services and subcontract support. Take personal responsibility for commercial, ethical, quality and health and safety considerations within procurement activity.
