Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Coordinator to join a major construction programme at Heathrow Airport, supporting the delivery of a new baggage handling facility. The project is currently progressing through RIBA Stage 5 (Manufacturing & Construction) and moving towards Stage 6 (Handover & Close Out).This role offers the chance to work on a high-profile infrastructure project where you will play a key role in coordinating design activities, resolving technical issues, and ensuring design deliverables are managed effectively through to project completion. The position is predominantly site-based, requiring a minimum of three days per week on site at Heathrow Airport. Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate RFIs, Technical Queries (TQs), concessions and design issues. Support the resolution of technical and design-related challenges throughout construction and handover. Coordinate liaison between clients, consultants, architects, engineers and specialist subcontractors. Review subcontractor design submissions and workshop drawings against approved design information. Coordinate design changes across civil, structural and MEP disciplines. Support Building Control approvals and technical close-out activities. Lead and support design review meetings, issue actions and track progress to completion. Coordinate the collection and management of as-built documentation and BIM deliverables. Work closely with document control teams to ensure accurate distribution of design information. Monitor and report on outstanding design actions, technical queries and project deliverables. Ensure design activities are delivered in accordance with project procedures and quality requirements. RequirementsEssential Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
