The team Global Risk Management (GRM) is an enterprise control function that provides independent risk management for Bank of America. GRM’s function is to ensure the company pursues its Responsible Growth strategy through strong risk management practices while deploying its capital appropriately to support business activities and maximize shareholder value. GRM oversees the company’s governance and strategy for risk management, including relationships with key regulators and supervisory institutions worldwide. Global Risk Summer Analysts will be aligned to teams supporting one of our seven risk types, providing exposure to a broad range of risk management activities and business challenges. Programme overview The Global Risk Development Summer Analyst Programme is a 10-week experience designed to provide insight into Bank of America, the role of Global Risk Management (GRM), and how effective risk management supports Responsible Growth across a leading global financial institution. As a Summer Analyst, you will gain exposure to the Bank’s seven risk disciplines — Strategic, Market, Credit, Compliance, Liquidity, Operational and Reputational Risk — developing a strong foundation in risk management and the financial services industry. Summer Analysts are given meaningful responsibilities, contributing to real business challenges, supporting strategic initiatives and partnering with colleagues across Global Risk and the broader Bank. Through hands-on project work, you will develop analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills while gaining insight into how risk-based decision-making supports the success of the company. The programme provides opportunities to build relationships across Global Risk, collaborate with business partners throughout the Bank, and gain exposure to senior leaders and decision-making processes. Our goal is to help you build professional skills, industry knowledge and practical experience while exploring a long-term career in risk management. Training and development Supporting your development is a key priority, with formal training at the start of the programme complemented by on-the-job learning, speaker events and mentorship opportunities. Responsibilities Partnering with Risk Managers to assess and manage the company’s risk exposures arising from business activities in accordance with our Risk Framework Supporting analysis and projects that contribute to the development and enhancement of risk management policies, controls and frameworks Developing emerging risk assessments, risk scenario analysis, and risk modeling where applicable Supporting and managing projects and initiatives related to risk management Supporting regulatory initiatives and policy implementation activities while assessing the potential impact of regulatory developments on risk management practices Supporting a culture where effective risk management is embedded in decision-making and contributes to Responsible Growth Eligibility Candidates are required to be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a completion time frame between September 2027 and July 2028. Completion means that you have completed all final exams, coursework, and have no outstanding requirements for graduation. Please note that we reserve the right to request evidence of this completion date before extending an offer On track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent) Must be available to join the programme from June 2027 to August 2027 Candidates who perform well during the internship may be offered full time employment to commence in July 2028; some lines of business may also offer the opportunity of a January or April start date.
