We're looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Catering Technician to join our Lifestyle, Health & Education team in Barnstaple, If you enjoy working behind the scenes to make things run smoothly, love a well-organised kitchen, and want to support the next generation of hospitality professionals, this could be the perfect role for you. No two days are quite the same. One minute you'll be preparing ingredients and setting up practical classes, the next you'll be managing stock, checking deliveries, or ensuring everything is spotless and safe at the end of a busy session. What You'll Be Doing: As a Catering Technician, you'll play a vital role in supporting our catering and hospitality teaching team by: • Preparing kitchens and restaurant service areas for practical classes • Ensuring ingredients, equipment, and resources are ready to go • Preparing basic food items, including stocks and sauces • Supporting food safety procedures, stock rotation, and date labelling • Assisting with deliveries and checking incoming goods • Helping maintain stock control systems • Serving tea and coffee for meetings when required What We're Looking For: We're keen to hear from people who: • Have experience working in a catering environment • Understand food safety, storage, and temperature control • Have knowledge of food, beverages, and catering equipment • Can calculate food quantities accurately • Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team • Are organised, reliable, and take pride in their work • Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop Bonus Points If You Have: • Food Safety qualifications • Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP procedures • Basic IT and administrative skills • Food service experience • PAT testing or First Aid qualifications (or are willing to achieve them) Why Join Us?
