Supply Teaching Assistant – Independent SEMH Setting Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young people who need a little extra understanding, patience and encouragement? Thrive Education is looking for enthusiastic and resilient Supply Teaching Assistants to work within an Independent SEMH setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage with education, build positive relationships and develop both academically and personally. The Role As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you could be: Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups Helping pupils to manage their emotions and behaviour positively Supporting learning both inside and outside of the classroom Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils Working alongside teachers and other professionals to provide a consistent and supportive environment Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive social skills Responding calmly and confidently to challenging situations when they arise What We're Looking For We are keen to hear from Teaching Assistants and support staff who: Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour Are calm, patient, resilient and adaptable Can build positive relationships and establish clear boundaries Have a genuine passion for making a difference Are confident working as part of a wider team Are able to adapt to different situations and individual pupil needs Experience within an SEMH setting would be beneficial, but we also welcome applications from candidates with relevant experience in education, care, youth work or similar environments.
