Job Description: Full Time | Permanent Eastbourne House Care Home is a 41-bed nursing and dementia service and part of the Kara Healthcare family. We are looking for a practical, reliable and proactive Maintenance Operative to support the safety, upkeep and smooth running of our home. This is a great opportunity to be part of a service on an exciting improvement journey, where the environment plays a key role in resident wellbeing. About the Role You will be responsible for the general maintenance and presentation of the building and grounds, ensuring the home remains safe, compliant and comfortable for residents, visitors and staff. The role includes: Basic electrical repairs Plumbing tasks Joinery work Plastering Decorating General building maintenance You will also support compliance and safety including: Fire safety awareness Legionella risk awareness and water checks Routine maintenance checks Reporting and escalating concerns Liaising with contractors when needed The role may include travel to other Kara Healthcare services where required. What We're Looking For We are seeking someone who: Has basic multi-trade maintenance skills Has awareness of fire safety and Legionella risk Is confident using technology to log checks and report issues Is organised and proactive Works well as part of a team Is flexible and solutions-focused Essential: ✔ Full UK driving licence ✔ Willingness to hold business insurance for travel between services ✔ Ability to complete compliance records and maintenance logs Why Join Us?
