Casual Maintenance Technician Erewash Contract - covering 3 sites East Derbyshire Closing Date: 31 October 2026 We are looking to appoint a key member of the team across the contract, the contract is located in Eastern Derbyshire, which includes West Park Leisure Centre, Rutland Sports Park, Victoria Park and Reporting to the Sites Management and the full time maintenance technician the successful candidate will be required to support the maintenance technician and across the leisure centres. The role also includes travel between the other 3 centres within the contract for any remedial maintenance requirements. Good communication skills will be required in order to prioritise tasks with Centre Managers across the sites. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and have proven basic DIY trade skills such as painting & decorating, grouting & tiling along with minor repair work to equipment and building fabric. The candidate must also be able to clearly identify and meet the requirements of Legacy Leisures customers. As part of their role, the candidate must ensure that Health & Safety regulations are followed at all times. Primary Objectives for the Maintenance Technician Position will be: Responsible for undertaking minor repairs and maintenance issues at the 3 x leisure buildings. To take responsibility for liaising with all contractors on sites carrying out any repair/maintenance work. The Technician will focus day to day on the following tasks: - To coordinate all reactive maintenance across the three centres. To assist in the management of the Leisure Centre’s quality assurance systems and procedures. To undertake any regulatory requirements. To assist in managing the facilities planned maintenance system. To play a role in maintaining the operation of the buildings and equipment at all leisure centres To liaise daily with the Centre/Duty managers to ensure any technical issues are overcome as a priority To undertake any other duties as may be required by the Centre/Site Manager to ensure that the business objectives of the contract are achieved. Engender a sense of pride in the company and maintain a professional attitude Assist in the development of a good working relationship between colleagues, the client and customers. To Carry out any other duties as may be required in the day to day running of the centre To carry out operations in line compliance with Health & Safety Procedures. Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills It will be desirable that the postholder has experience of maintenance, plant & equipment and has an understanding of Health & Safety specific to the post. The successful candidate will preferably have knowledge & skills in the Leisure or a related industry in a small/medium sized enterprise. It would be advantageous for the postholder to have an electrical qualification. The position is classed as a regulated post and therefore requires a DBS Disclosure.
