Hays Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Plumber to join a facilities maintenance team at HMP Berwyn in Wrexham on a temporary to permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled plumber looking for long-term, stable employment within a secure and professional environment. Following a successful temporary period, there is the opportunity to secure a permanent position with a leading facilities management organisation. The Role As a Plumber, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the prison estate, ensuring all plumbing systems are maintained to a high standard and remain fully operational. Key duties will include: Carrying out plumbing repairs and maintenance works Diagnosing and rectifying faults on water systems and sanitary ware Installation and replacement of plumbing fixtures and fittings Responding to reactive maintenance requests Completing planned preventative maintenance tasks Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant regulations Maintaining accurate records of work completed What You'll Need NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent) Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities environment Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Good understanding of health and safety regulations Ability to work independently and as part of a team Full UK driving licence is desirable What's on Offer Temporary to permanent opportunity Competitive pay rates Stable, long-term work Monday to Friday working pattern Opportunity to work within a large and well-established facilities management environment Training and development opportunities Pension and additional benefits available upon permanent employment Security Clearance Due to the nature of the site, all successful applicants will be required to undergo prison security clearance and vetting before commencing work.
