Flexible Badminton Coach This role is at the National Cycling Centre, Manchester. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality badminton coaching sessions within the leisure centre, catering to participants of varying ages and abilities. The Badminton Coach is responsible to the Assistant and or General manager at the centre. Responsibilities and Accountabilities To provide safe and consistent coaching for all ages and abilities of pupils. To ensure the safety and control of the pupils within the coaching session and to ensure that all relevant regulations applicable to the centres operation are enforced and complied with. To respond as required to the many different situations which will arise. This will involve teaching pupils of different ages and stages, as well as a range of levels and abilities. To ensure that all pupils are collected from and returned to the centre agreed meeting point. To actively encourage pupils to enrol on further courses and short courses. To assist with new-enrolments and re-enrolments as required by the General Manager. To teach to the standard set within the Brand to ensure a consistent approach throughout all the centres. To ensure that all pupils are recorded on a class register. To bring to the attention of the manager on duty the names of any pupils not recorded on the register. To assist with the promotion, marketing and development of the activity as required. To ensure that all necessary qualifications for the post are maintained and renewed. Working towards Licensing requirements as required To attend CPD training as required. 3. Other Act in accordance with and actively promotes all GLL policies and standards. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post’s level of responsibility or required particularly as a result of events outside of GLL’s business control (pandemics etc). Work flexibly in line with the needs of the business at peak flow times, evenings and weekends. Deliver critical incident management as and when required. 4. Key Working Relationships To constructively interact with different people in a variety of areas within the operational team and GLL support services. Builds good working relationships with all GLL colleagues, working both proactively and collaboratively. Builds positive and progressive relationships with local authority partners as required. 5. Requirements of Role Essential Qualifications Dry side/Specialist Centre Either hold a UKCC level 2 or equivalent Badminton Coaching Qualification or have the desire to be trained up. However, we will consider exceptional people who are not currently qualified with the full training provided. Willingness to work unsocial hours, evenings and weekends. Passion and enthusiasm for the game. Some experience in delivering a wide range of coaching sessions. A strong customer service ethos and desire to improve coaching services to all. A professional manner and reliable The ability to offer professionalism and become a role model for players The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team Desirable Either hold a UKCC level 2 or equivalent Badminton Coaching Qualification or have the desire to be trained up.
