Freelance Trainee/ Assistant Site Manager - New Build Housing We are currently recruiting an experienced Freelance Trainee/ Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of a large-scale new build residential development in Chesterfield. You will be part of an experienced site management team, playing a key role in ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the exceptional quality standards expected by the business. Location: Chesterfield Contract: Freelance Duration: Temporary - permanent Start Date: Immediately available Rate: 230.00 per day The Role: Working closely with the Site Manager, you will assist in the day-to-day management of the construction programme, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring quality, and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety throughout the build process. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the Site Manager with the daily management of all on-site operations. Coordinating subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with the construction programme. Monitoring build quality and ensuring all works comply with NHBC standards, technical specifications, and company procedures. Undertaking regular quality inspections and proactively managing snagging and defect resolution. Promoting a positive health and safety culture through site inspections, inductions, toolbox talks, and compliance monitoring. Assisting with programme management to ensure key milestones and handover dates are achieved. Maintaining accurate site records, including progress reports, site diaries, inspections, and permits.
