Job DescriptionThe Role: As a Flow Room Technician, you'll partner with the on-site Operations team, ensuring the smooth system and product flow to achieve and exceed operational KPIs across designated areas. You will work closely with warehouse operatives, Flow Room colleagues, Shift and Section Managers, Supervisors, Trainee Supervisors, and the IT and Engineering teams. Key Responsibilities: Working alongside the Flow Room Senior Technician, you will support the day-to-day running of warehouse systems, reporting faults, prioritising waves in line with the daily operational plan, and providing recommendations to optimise performance and product flow. You will be responsible for analysing operational data in real time, capturing information from warehouse systems into trackers and reports, monitoring forecasts, and identifying, investigating, and communicating operational risks and missed targets to the Senior Technician. You will monitor operational KPIs and performance trends, using data to identify risks, opportunities, and areas requiring intervention to support the achievement of site objectives. You will also be expected to identify operational bottlenecks and understand their impact on overall warehouse performance. This includes applying root cause analysis techniques to investigate issues, collaborating with multiple teams to gather and share information, and contributing to the development of effective solutions. The role requires a proactive approach to continuous improvement, actively supporting the implementation of new processes, system enhancements, and ways of working to improve productivity, quality, and customer service. Previous experience within a Control Room, Flow Room, Planning, Supervisory, Logistics, Manufacturing, or Warehouse Operations environment would be advantageous, as the role requires the ability to interpret live operational data, understand operational dependencies, and make recommendations that support business performance. Shift Pattern 4 on 4 off rotation – Days and Nights QualificationsEssential Skills • Previous experience working in a data, analytics, or operational support role. • Strong IT skills with the ability to work across multiple systems. • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced automated environment. • Excellent attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset. • Strong communication and teamwork abilities. • Good operational awareness. • Experience applying root cause analysis and structured problem-solving techniques. • Ability to analyse data and communicate findings effectively. • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills. Desirable Skills • Previous experience within a Flow Room, Control Room, Operational Control Centre, Planning, Logistics, Manufacturing, or Warehouse Operations environment. • Experience interpreting operational data and using it to support decision-making. • Understanding of warehouse KPIs and performance metrics. • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS). • Experience using Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis. • Understanding of automated warehouse operations and material flow. • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
