School Attendance Officer Post Reference: ED50294482 Contract: Temporary until 31st March 2027 in the first instance / subject to funding Salary: Grade 5 SCP 11-19 (£28,142- £32,061) Pro Rata Hours: 16.25 hours per week/39 weeks per year. To Start: As soon as possible Age Range 3-11 The Cardiff High Primary Schools Cluster are looking for a highly motivated and organised School Attendance Officer. The role of Attendance Officer will be to work closely with the Headteachers and Administrators across the five primary schools within the cluster to help monitor and improve pupil attendance. The primary cluster consists of Rhydypenau Primary, Lakeside Primary, Roath Park Primary, Howardian Primary and Marlborough Primary. The role will be primarily based at the host school Rhydypenau Primary but will work across all the schools within the cluster. The successful candidate will work directly with targeted families to re-engage them in the learning process. You will play a vital role in strengthening the links between our schools, parents, and the wider community, working directly to reduce the impact of low attendance on educational attainment. We are looking for a committed individual who will: ● Build Strong Connections: Develop positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and school staff. ● Work Collaboratively: Manage time effectively across multiple school sites to drive up attendance initiatives across the cluster. ● Show Cultural Integrity: Demonstrate sensitivity and understanding toward the diverse needs, backgrounds, and beliefs of our school families. ● Use Initiative: Work independently, manage a varied workload effectively, and remain solution-focused. ● Be a Team Player: Work seamlessly alongside existing school wellbeing and administrative teams. This post is a temporary contract and is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
