(To be reviewed Summer term 2027 with regards to need for academic year 2027-2028) Salary: Grade 4 SCP 6-11 (£25,989- £28,142) Pro Rata Hours: 33 hrs per week term-time only 8.45 - 3.45 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) and 8.30 - 4 on a Wednesday Start Date: Required ASAP Ton Yr Ywen Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our nurturing and community-focused school family. We are looking for someone who believes that every child can succeed and who is passionate about helping children achieve their very best, both academically and personally. The successful candidate will be committed to building positive relationships with children, ensuring that every learner feels valued, included and able to thrive. Working initially within a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality learning experiences aimed at helping children to develop confidence, independence and a love of learning. You will work closely with teachers and colleagues to provide effective support for all learners, including those requiring additional support, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. The successful candidate must also be able to support the class teacher in daily classroom organisation, assessment and tidy up. We are looking for someone who: ● Has previous experience working within a school setting. ● Demonstrates warmth, patience and a genuine commitment to children's learning and wellbeing. ● Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoys working as part of a team. ● Is proactive, adaptable and willing to use their initiative. ● Can build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues. ● Is creative, enthusiastic and able to engage and motivate learners. ● Is committed to inclusion and meeting the diverse needs of all pupils. ● Can maintain an organised and purposeful high quality learning environment. Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
