Project Officer – Active Journeys

Contract: Fixed Term Contract until September 2027 Location: Hybrid working across Wales Full-time 37.5 hours per week, or job share available. We welcome conversations about flexible working arrangements and job-share opportunities. £29,835 per annum (pro rata for part time) Closing date: 23:59 on 06 September 2026 Reference: 207REC About the role Team: SNWI / Cymru / Active Journeys As a Project Officer in our Active Journeys team, you will deliver behaviour change and engagement projects that empower schools and communities across Wales to make active travel part of everyday life. What You’ll Be Doing - Plan, organise and deliver educational and practical activities, events and workshops that help people travel actively. - Engage schools, communities, local authorities, active travel champions, volunteers and other stakeholders to shape and deliver effective projects. - Build supportive working relationships, respond to enquiries and help recruit and support volunteers so that activity can be sustained locally. - Manage clearly defined project tasks, documentation and expenditure, and prepare risk assessments for approval. About you We’re looking for someone who has experience and understanding in the areas listed below. You don’t need to meet every requirement — if you. - A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or at least three years’ relevant work experience, including experience with community groups (which may include voluntary work). - Experience of managing small, clearly defined projects or delivering work packages as part of a wider project. - Experience of working collaboratively, building meaningful relationships and leading workshops or presentations in person and online. - Welsh language skills at a minimum of being able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and simple phrases. - The ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and adults at risk.  feel you’d be a good fit, we encourage you to apply.
