Support & Outreach Coordinator

This is a home based role that needs to be within easy travelling distance to Leeds. The Support & Outreach Coordinator will join the existing Support & Outreach Team, consisting of three other members. The key function of this role will be to support patients and their families through their journey with aplastic anaemia and related bone marrow failure conditions. This role will also have responsibility for recruiting, training and supervising volunteers in order to expand our current support offer. Finally, the role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with treatment centres, healthcare professionals and partner charities. Aplastic Anaemia is a rare life-threatening auto-immune disease that stops the bone marrow from producing blood. The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only charity in the UK focused on aplastic anaemia. We fund research to improve treatment, provide expert information, and work tirelessly, at grassroots level, to support every aplastic anaemia patient and their loved ones. The Aplastic Anamia Trust is a small but might charity consisting of twelve team members, all of whom work from home and are located across the UK. We are looking for a compassionate, warm and emotionally intelligent person to join our dynamic and motivated team. The role is 16 hours per week with core working hours to be agreed.  Occasional evening work is required for online support groups and the attendance at a twice yearly staff conference.
