Freight Forwarding Assistant Location: Immingham Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE Job Type: Full Time Holiday: 25 Days + Bank Holidays Start Date: ASAP The Role An exciting opportunity has become available for a Freight Forwarding Assistant to join a busy and growing logistics operation based in Immingham. Working closely with the Freight Forwarding Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of import and export freight movements, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently from quotation through to invoicing. Key Responsibilities Coordinating import and export shipments Completing and managing customs entries Liaising with customers, shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agents Obtaining quotations and negotiating freight rates Preparing and checking shipping documentation Monitoring shipment progress and resolving issues Delivering excellent customer service throughout the logistics process Supporting the smooth running of freight forwarding operations About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Previous experience within freight forwarding or logistics Knowledge of UK import and export customs procedures Experience or understanding of customs entries Knowledge of shipping lines serving European and international markets Understanding of EU road freight operations Strong communication and negotiation skills A proactive and solutions-focused approach The ability to work independently and as part of a team Good Microsoft Excel and Word skills Benefits Competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 DOE 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Immediate start available Supportive working environment Opportunity to develop your career within freight forwarding and logistics If you're looking for your next opportunity in freight forwarding and have experience in customs and international logistics, we'd love to hear from you.
