**Strictly  No Agencies** £13.46 per hour, 28 Hours Per Week 1. Purpose of Job To work as a member of the Learning Resources Centre (LRC) team. To assist with the day-to-day operation of the LRC in accordance with policies and procedures. 2. Principle Accountabilities • To work as a member of the LRC team and to greet staff and students in a friendly and polite manner. Deal with enquiries (face-to-face, written and over the telephone) and day-to-day duties at the enquiry desk. • To be part of the LRC team taking part in all tasks peculiar to a library and learning resources service including shelving of books, book repairs, issuing and returning of items, distribution and collection of post and appropriate use of consumables. • To participate in providing timetabled cover of the LRC service as required on a rota basis. • To provide appropriate IT and eLearning guidance, assistance and support to all users of the LRC to ensure that students make the best use of their time in the Centre. • To assist with the supervision of the Centre and to ensure that all users comply with College policies and procedures. This includes monitoring walks around the Centre to support and assist students and to ensure the appropriate use of the equipment and Centre. • To attend LRC team meetings and to share minute taking duties. • To maintain accurate and reliable records appropriate to the Centre, including maintaining accurate data entry onto the automated library system. • To be aware of the services provided by other College departments and to advise students accordingly. • To handle any cash transactions in relation to the LRC and its services. • To take part in an annual stock check of items in the LRC. • To comply with all relevant policies and procedures. • To continually update and develop personal skills and knowledge as appropriate, including new technologies and to participate in the College CPD programme. • To perform such other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as required by your Line Manager • At all times deliver a professional approach in all aspect of work, treating all staff, students and the wider college community with respect.
