Live-out Start: ASAP Rate: 20000 AED per month (Candidate dependent) Days: Monday – Friday (14:00 /16:00 pm – 20:00 pm) Key Requirements: • European nationality with a strong European educational and professional background • Formal pedagogical, teaching or education qualification from a recognised European university or reputable teacher-training institution • Proven experience working within preschool, preparatory or Early Years settings • Strong knowledge of the British curriculum, particularly Early Years / Prep, highly desirable • Experience supporting children who are non-native English speakers and confidence providing English language immersion • Excellent spoken and written English • Experience providing structured educational and developmental activities rather than relying solely on free play • Confident supporting homework, reading, early academic development and school adaptation • Able to establish clear boundaries while developing a positive relationship with the children • Previous experience working with high-achieving families and/or in long-term private household positions highly desirable • Full clean driving licence and confidence driving children in the family car strongly preferred This is a truly special opportunity in working with an international family who are looking for an exceptional Educational Governess to become an important and long-term part of their two young children’s lives. Based on beautiful Saadiyat Island, this is a role for an accomplished and passionate educator who can combine warmth and encouragement with structure, discipline and a genuine commitment to academic and personal development. The children, aged 5 and 3, are attending a Pre Prep school and are not native English speakers. The Governess will play an important role in their English language development, school adaptation, academic progress and wider enrichment. The family has a strong long-term educational vision and is looking for someone who can help the children develop excellent academic foundations, confidence, discipline and a genuine love of learning. The approach should be structured and developmental, with clear boundaries and consistent expectations, rather than centred around free play. The role will include daily homework and academic support, reading, English immersion, developmental activities, sports and enrichment. The Governess will liaise directly with teachers, attend parent-teacher meetings where appropriate and keep the parents updated on the children's progress, challenges and achievements through a short weekly report. A newborn is expected in early 2027. A separate nanny will be responsible for the baby's care, with the Governess only occasionally providing light assistance, such as accompanying the baby in the pram.
