Job Title: Steel Fixer - National Grid Substation Project - NG Person ESSENTIAL Location: Pilmoor Substation, York, YO61 2QF. Sector: Power / Substations (National Grid) Job Type: Contract Start Date: ASAP Duration: Until January 2027 Pay: 32/hour CIS Hours: 50 hours per week (Early finish on Fridays) The Role: We are currently recruiting experienced Steel Fixers to work on a National Grid 400kV substation project in York. This is a great opportunity to get onto a live substation site, supporting in-situ foundation works within a substation building. Key Responsibilities: Steel fixing for in-situ concrete foundations Working with pre-cut and bent reinforcement bar Ensuring all works are carried out to specification and drawings Maintaining high standards of health & safety within a live substation environment Working closely with site teams to meet programme deadlines Requirements: Proven experience as a Steel Fixer on infrastructure or substation projects Ability to read and interpret drawings Experience working in live or controlled environments (highly beneficial) Strong understanding of site safety and procedures Tickets: National Grid Person Any tickets relevant to steel works and fixing Rates & Package: 32/hour 50 hours per week Early finish every Friday Works unitl January 2027 Additional Information: Working on a National Grid 400kV substation Immediate start available Opportunity to gain experience on a high-value infrastructure project Contact: For more information or to apply, contact: Jack Bennett - (phone number removed) - (url removed) If you're an experienced Steel Fixer available to start immediately and looking for your next contract on a National Grid site, get in touch today.
