SEND Learning Support Assistant 4 Days (8.35am -3.15pm) Salary: Grade 5 1 year Fixed Term Contract Start Date โ As soon as possible Rothley Church of England Academy is a large single-academy school set on an expansive, welcoming site in the village of Rothley. We are looking for a calm and nurturing SEND Learning Support Assistant to provide support for identified pupils in Foundation/Key Stage 1. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's early learning journey, helping them to access the curriculum and develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours. The successful candidate will work closely with our supportive and dedicated staff team, contributing to a warm and inclusive school environment where all children can thrive. Key Responsibilities o Provide learning and pastoral support for pupils with additional needs. o Support the pupil to access the curriculum, adapt activities when needed, and promote their engagement in learning. o Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals. o Use calm, consistent approaches to behaviour and emotional regulation. o Support the pupil's social, emotional, and communication development. o Contribute to a positive, nurturing learning environment both inside and outside the classroom. Essential Skills & Experience o A calm, patient and consistent approach to supporting young pupils. o Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. o An understanding of early childhood development and Foundation/KS1 expectations. o A genuine commitment to supporting children's individual needs and wellbeing.
