Role: Teaching Assistant Location: Writhlington School Start Date: As soon as possible Closing Date: 28/08/2026 Interview Date: 01/09/2026 Hours: 34 hours per week 08:30-15:30 (16:30 on Tues for CPD) Term time plus 5 INSET days Salary: Grade 2 - SCP 4 - 5 £13.05 - £13.26 per hour Yearly Full-Time Equivalent:      £25,185 - £25,583 Yearly Actual Salary:                   £19,884 - £20,198 We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant, who will support SEN students within the classroom and who can also lead individual/small group interventions. Support for students may include: Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters, as appropriate. Supervise and support pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning. Establish constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs. Develop a good knowledge of a pupil's individual special educational needs and implement appropriate strategies as outlined in the students’ profile. Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils. Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the Teacher. Encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate. To provide pastoral support for pupils as directed by the Sendco, Tutor or Head of Year. There are many advantages to working for us.
