AdvertRelief Airfield Attendant, Rescue and Fire Fighter Stronsay Hours are offered on an as and when required basis £15.59 / £16.03 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance) You will be reporting to the Airfield Superintendent. Your working pattern is on an as and when required basis. The purpose of this role is to provide airfield attendant, rescue and fire fighting services while receiving and dispatching flights to the Island Airfield. The service includes baggage handling, preparing and, if necessary, operating the fire tender, maintaining apron control, keeping the airfield building clean and tidy, operating the phone/radio transmitter and inspecting runways and the airfield in general. In an emergency you will provide rescue and fire fighting and first aid services as required. A condition of this post is that you will be resident on Stronsay as you will be required to respond at short notice and during evenings/weekends. To be appointed at Grade C applicants should hold a full and current driving licence to drive a car/small van in the UK or, where a full licence is not held, should have a current provisional licence and will be required to achieve a full licence within 2 years of appointment.
