Community and Engagement Officer

Fixed term: 5th September 2026 - 31st March 2029
Reporting to: Director of GWCT Cymru / Wales.
Location: Preferably within Wales / Montgomeryshire and Radnorshire Area
Hours of work: 5 days a week (37.5 hours)
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000

Job Purpose

The Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) is seeking a Community and Engagement Officer to Facilitate GWCT engagement in Wales, be that with members, committees, government, NGO’s, funders and the general public as well as play a pivotal role in the Gwlad y Gylfinir/Land of the Curlew Project.

We are looking for a creative, motivated, and experienced professional to cover two key areas for GWCT Cymru’s engagement plan. The candidate will work on all aspects of the GWCT Cymru’s projects as well as dedicate time to the Gwlad y Gyfinir/Land of the Curlew project.

The Community and Engagement Officer will work alongside GWCT staff, Land of the Curlew Project manager and project officers, to co-ordinate administration activities within Wales, develop clear and positive communication channels, undertake event planning and running, develop training provision, help with Bid writing and creation of projects and well as, explore corporate and private sponsorship / funding within Wales. As part of the Gwlad y Gyfinir/Land of the Curlew project you will also be expected to lead community engagement activities, creating meaningful connections between local farming and rural communities, and project stakeholders.
