Pharmacy Technician / Dispenser

Hours: 37.5hr to 40hr per week / Full-time – Permanent Medical Supplier to a niche global market seeks Pharmacy Technician(s) or Dispenser to join our small but growing team to assist across all day-to-day activities As a specialist supplier to those working in challenging and often remote environments worldwide, we provide essential services where expertise, regulatory compliance, reliability, accuracy and attention to detail are critical. This is not a traditional community or hospital pharmacy role, but an opportunity to be part of a unique and challenging industry assisting a diverse range of global clients with diverse, and at times, logistically challenging supply requirements. As a small growing company, we are seeking candidates looking for longer term career development within a niche but interesting industry. Duties and responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Picking and checking of pharmaceutical and medical consumables Assisting with the safe handling, storage, packing, labelling and documentation of held stock, “goods in” and client orders. Following and ensuring compliance with all internal company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and with governing MHRA, GPhC, and GDP guidelines Working closely with and supporting senior management and warehouse staff to deliver exceptional client service levels. Supporting procurement with stock control including the monitoring of stock levels, expiry dates and batch numbers Assisting the Operations Director on regulatory compliance including product recalls, internal audits, and the updating of existing and implementation of new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Assisting in client order dispatch, complex GDP logistics, paperwork and post shipment client notifications Responding to client quote requests and general and technical queries. Assisting with the implementation of a new ERP and inventory system to optimize and drive improvement across the full supply chain - operations, procurement, regulatory compliance and logistics Experience and qualifications Candidates should be able to work in a busy and demanding diverse role, utilising their pharmaceutical and regulatory knowledge to assist in daily operations. Candidates must be honest, self-motivated and reliable with an interest and willingness to learn You will need: NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent qualifications (or currently undertaking such qualifications). At least 2 years’ experience in the handling and dispensing of pharmaceuticals, with a strong and clear understanding of the need for regulatory compliance, policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Familiarity with regulations related to controlled drugs and cold chain logistics requirements Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential plus a proficiency in Word/Excel and computer skills is needed Exhibit excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment Willing to learn specific industry needs and regulations, and to develop knowledge of international medications, medical consumables and equipment An understanding of, or an interest in, MHRA Wholesale Distribution (WDA) regulations with a willingness to train to become a deputy Responsible Person (RP) if deemed appropriate for the business - would be an advantage Previous experience in a warehouse environment and/or pharmaceutical logistics – including cold-chain and controlled drugs - would be advantageous but is not essential Internal training, as needed, shall be provided and carried out through practical on-the-job learning
