Experience is not necessary as all training will be provided.

The Individual
As a successful post holder, you will be responsible for:
Following a planned schedule of service user visits.
Supporting service users to maintain their own home.
Supporting service users based on their assessed needs.
Supporting service users with personal care tasks when required to enable the person to reach their optimum level of independence.
Monitoring health & wellbeing and supporting to appointments.
Supporting service users to access community facilities / activities.
Supporting service users to recognise and achieve their potential.
Protecting individuals from risk or abuse and to report any concerns through appropriate process.
Ensuing Health & Safety for yourself and service users in line with PKC policy and procedures.
Participating in assessments.
Maintaining accurate records and reporting on service users' progress.
Complying with the National Care Standards and SSSC Codes of Practice.

You will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
As part of this registration commitment, you will undertake your own personal development and work towards recognised qualification if required.
SVQ 2 (or equivalent) is desirable. If not held, the successful candidate must achieve this qualification within 3 years of their start date.
A valid UK manual driving licence is desirable but not essential.
Ability to work a flexible rota 20hrs or 25 hrs over the week (for example 5hrs Monday, Tuesday and 5hrs Thursday, Friday totalling 20hrs) including alternate weekends.
Availability for occasional sleepover shifts is required.

You will / will have:
Knowledge and commitment to deliver and improve service provision by keeping up to date with relevant legislation, processes and procedures, ensuring high standards are maintained.
Communicate effectively to build relationships with clients/service users and other internal/external agencies to ensure a quality care provision.
Organisational skills to plan, prioritise and schedule work to contribute to the needs of the team/service.
Ability to assess, understand the wellbeing and individual needs of client/service users.
Ability to plan, organise and manage a range of appropriate activities and resources to meet client/service user needs and to improve outcomes.
Ability to identify, manage and mitigate potential risks to self and others, by applying existing guidelines, seeking advice when required.
Ability to observe, record and share client /service users changing needs, ensuring information is up to date.
Knowledge and understanding in the use and care of specialist equipment.
Digital skills to operate and maintain relevant systems and equipment necessary for completing assigned tasks.
Knowledge and understanding of financial processes and transactions to undertake financial activities and cash handling.
Where appropriate, supervisory skills through the co-ordination of work, on the job training and assessing work against expected standards.
Ability to co-operate and comply with the Council’s health
