Groundworker (Voids) Portsmouth (Covering areas within our South region patch) Salary up to £36,000 plus a company van and fuel card Hyde is looking for an experienced Groundworker to join our busy Property Maintenance Voids team. As a Groundworker at Hyde, you'll be working in our homes carrying out day-to-day repairs and maintenance. You'll be trusted to get jobs done right first time and to treat our customers with respect in their homes. If you're a hands-on tradesperson who can turn their hand to a range of jobs and takes pride in doing things properly, we'd like to hear from you. What you'll be doing Carrying out general mainteance work such as path/paving repairs, minor brickwork repairs, painting and decorating, garden clearances, shed removals and minor roofing repairs. Erecting and repairing fencing and gates, repairing concrete floors, and addressing issues in garden areas. Repointing old or damaged mortar joints, replacing broken bricks/blocks, and repairing walls, chimneys, and structural features. Excavating, repairing, and re-installing drainage systems, flagging (paving), and edging to paths and driveway Following work orders and reporting back on progress and materials used Always working safely and following Hyde's health and safety procedures Providing a professional, friendly service to customers in their homes What we're looking for Solid experience across repairs, maintenance or void property refurbishment. Proven experience in multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, and general maintenance. Experience working within social housing, local authority or domestic maintenance environments. A practical problem-solver who can spot issues and fix them properly. Knowledge of trade-specific techniques, materials, and safety protocols. Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude. A full, valid UK driving licence.
