TON YR YWEN PRIMARY SCHOOL Post: Estates Manager Ref: ED50276548 Contract: Permanent, Full Time Salary: Grade 5 SCP 11-19 (£28,142- £32,061) Required: As soon as possible 37 hrs per week (split shift – consisting of 3.5 hours in the morning working 6 – 9.30am and starting again at 3pm – finishing Monday – Thursday at 7pm and Friday at 6.30pm) plus regular weekend opening in response to letting agreements, and occasional extended evening openings – paid as overtime at an enhanced rate). We are looking to appoint a new Estates Manager who is reliable, pro-active, and hard working who is keen to contribute to the nurturing, inclusive community of Ton Yr Ywen Primary School. The successful candidate must be able to show initiative, and adaptability and be practical in nature, able to support with day-to-day maintenance such as basic plumbing, carpentry, and waste disposal management of our extensive site. In addition the successful candidate will be required to use IT as part of their role. Practical skills and knowledge The successful candidate will have the skills necessary for maintaining high standards in the school environment and buildings including: ● Good practical skills which ensure effective lifting, monitoring, repairs and maintenance, including use of a range of different power tools. ● Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures. Attitude and Work Ethic The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team . They must be proactive in contributing to the distinct ethos of our community focussed school. The successful candidate will ● have good initiative and organisational skills ● be prepared to undertake any relevant training ● be reliable and physically fit ● able to follow direction as well as being self-motivated Health and Safety The site manager will play a key role in ensuring the Health and Safety of our school community and will: ● deal professionally with all school members, contractors and visitors ● be an outstanding role model to our children ● organise and liaise with staff, school contractors and external suppliers ● regularly maintain electronic and paper records of health and safety checks including mandatory compliance ● ensure all Child Protection procedures are adhered to We can offer ● Training ● A friendly and positive team ● A supportive school community This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced check.
