The Opportunity Join our 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer in our Birmingham office, where you will support the design and delivery of mechanical engineering solutions across water and wastewater projects. A briefing form has been completed for a Birmingham mechanical and electrical role. The successful candidate will join a local team of approximately 15 people in Birmingham, supported by a national network of more than 200 colleagues. You will work across the wider West Midlands region from Birmingham, while also collaborating with teams in London and other major cities on key client projects. As part of our collaborative design team, you will support the delivery of innovative solutions for water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations and hydraulic systems. You will contribute to the design and delivery of complex engineering projects, particularly around pump hydraulics, valve selection, piping systems and related equipment, with involvement across the project lifecycle from front-end engineering design through to detailed design, installation and construction support. Our project portfolio spans across the UK, with opportunities to support major water-sector frameworks and work with multidisciplinary colleagues across mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, process and environmental disciplines. About The Role As part of our Water and MEICA team, you will support mechanical engineering design and delivery across water and wastewater projects, developing your technical capability while learning from experienced engineers and subject matter experts. Your core responsibilities include: Supporting mechanical design for water and wastewater treatment works, pumping stations and hydraulic systems. Contributing to pump hydraulics, valve selection, piping systems and related equipment design. Supporting mechanical design work from front-end engineering design through to detailed design, installation and construction support. Producing calculations, specifications, reports, drawings, and coordinated design outputs. Working with mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, process and environmental colleagues to develop integrated solutions. Developing your technical understanding through project work, mentoring, training and structured graduate development.
