Temporary Works Supervisor

Role Overview Manage temporary works on live gas and asset health upgrade sites. Ensure full compliance with BS 5975 standards. Coordinate with the Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC). Inspect and sign off temporary works before use. Key Responsibilities Check design briefs and risk assessments. Issue permits for excavation, shoring, and crane lifts. Brief site teams on temporary works procedures. Stop unsafe work immediately if risks arise. Maintain the site temporary works register. Requirements Valid SMSTS or SSSTS card. CITB Temporary Works Supervisor course certificate. Experience in gas networks, utilities, or heavy civils. Strong knowledge of soil stability, trench support, and scaffolding.
