Solution Architect Rate - £675 (A Day) Location - Manchester (Hybrid) Duration - 6 Months (Initially) IR35 - Inside (Must use an umbrella company) Key Responsibilities Assessment of requirements including Functional and Non-Functional requirements, High level design of solutions including data flows and integrations, Low level design of solutions, Engaging with the Technical Design Authority to understand assurance requirements and ensure that designs are compliant with these, Working with the Enterprise Architect (Research) to develop the overall Research Administration Domain blueprint, Working with the Research Enablement Portfolio team to provide guidance on appropriate solutions. Key Relationships The role will report via the Enterprise Architect and be functionally aligned to the Architecture and Analysis team. The key customer for the role (determining priorities) will be the ResearchEnablement Portfolio team. Given the short nature of the assignment, it is envisaged that the role will be focused around providing support for the following projects: Electronic Notebooks project focused on the implementation of Electronic Research Notebooks for use by researchers. Contracting Optimisation project focused on the implementation of a contract lifecycle management solution. One Research Facility project focused on the delivery of improvement associated with the acquisition, booking, use and accounting of research facilities and equipment. Secure Research Environments project developing a range of secure, functional data acquisition, processing and storage services to serve a range of research requirements. The Technical Design Authority will govern assurance of designs produced by the role. Skills and Experience Required Relevant qualification and delivery experience in the role of Solution Architect. Demonstrable ability to work flexibly and adapt quickly to a changing environment. Ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation with both technical and business stakeholders. Desirable experience of higher education or a research-intensive environment.
