Job Description

The best Credit Controllers know there's more to the job than chasing overdue invoices. It's about knowing when to pick up the phone, when to ask the right questions and when to listen. Most importantly, it's about building strong customer relationships that get results. If that sounds like your approach, this could be the role for you. You'll take responsibility for your own ledger, managing your accounts from start to finish and working closely with colleagues across the business to resolve queries, improve cash flow and keep customers engaged. You'll be joining a collaborative finance team where you'll be trusted to manage your workload, encouraged to solve problems and given the opportunity to contribute ideas that improve how we work. What will you be doing? Taking full ownership of an allocated sales ledger and proactively managing outstanding debt. Building strong relationships with customers to secure payment while delivering a positive customer experience. Investigating invoice and account queries and working with internal teams to resolve issues quickly. Producing and analysing aged debt reports and keeping key stakeholders updated on progress. Working closely with invoicing, treasury and wider finance colleagues to ensure accounts remain accurate and up to date. Supporting cash allocation and reconciliation activities when required. Contributing to month-end reporting and wider finance projects. Identifying opportunities to improve processes and make credit control more efficient. Supporting the integration of new business units into the wider finance function. What do you need? You'll be a great fit if you: Have previous Credit Control experience and are comfortable taking ownership of your own ledger. Know how to have challenging conversations confidently, professionally and constructively. Are organised, proactive and able to prioritise effectively in a busy environment. Have strong Excel skills and are confident using finance systems. Enjoy solving problems rather than simply passing them on. Work well with others and understand that successful credit control relies on strong relationships across the business. Care about delivering excellent customer service as much as achieving strong cash collection results. What's in it for you? Salary of up to £28,000 28 days' annual leave Flexible working hours Career progression opportunities A supportive finance team where your ideas and contribution will be valued The autonomy to take ownership of your work and make the role your own If you're looking for a Credit Control role where you'll be trusted to get on with the job, build great relationships and have a genuine opportunity to develop, click "apply now".
