Community InfoSource are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Befriending Caseworker to join our small and supportive team.The role combines coordination of our Befriending Programme with practical casework, advocacy and support. You will recruit, train and support volunteer befrienders, help ensure appropriate befriending matches, and provide person-centred casework to people seeking asylum and New Scots.We are looking for someone with experience of working in cross-cultural settings and/or with refugee and asylum issues, together with experience of providing casework support or advocacy.You should be organised, able to manage competing priorities and comfortable working bothindependently and as part of a collaborative team.Experience of befriending or volunteer coordination, maintaining casework records and working withinthe voluntary sector would be welcome. The ability to speak one or more of the first languages used bythe communities we support would also be an advantage.We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of the UK asylum andimmigration system.
