Job Description

Crofton Academy is seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to join our inclusive and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with special educational needs (SEN), helping them to access learning and thrive in a mainstream school environment. As an LSA, you will work closely with the SEN Coordinator and Assistant SENCo to support pupils across a range of needs. You’ll provide one-to-one and small group support, assist with personal care, and help pupils engage with learning activities both in and out of the classroom. Key Responsibilities Support pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including physical disabilities Assist with learning activities, supervision, and care Report pupil progress and concerns to teaching staff and contribute to individual education/behaviour plans Support pupils in using resources such as ICT. Participate in school visits and supervise pupils during non-lesson times Liaise with parents/carers and contribute to reports under the direction of the SENCo Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection standards What We’re Looking For GCSEs (A*-C / 9-4) in English and Maths or equivalent Experience working or caring for children Understanding of SEN and ability to relate well to pupils with additional needs Strong communication, teamwork, and initiative Compassionate, patient, and adaptable Enthusiastic and energetic with a commitment to pupil wellbeing A positive role model and team player Willingness to support whole school events and personal development Why Join Us? This position is 38 weeks per year term time only.
