Advanced Teaching Assistant (ATA) - Green Meadows Academy Are you an experienced, empathetic and resilient educator skilled at building connections with pupils facing complex barriers to learning? Green Meadows Academy is seeking a dedicated Advanced Teaching Assistant to join our personalised and therapeutic provision. This role focuses directly on working with our pupils on a 1:1 (and occasionally 2:1) basis, largely outside of the standard classroom setting. You will deliver tailored, bespoke support to distressed or disengaged learners, de-escalating difficulties and delivering key learning activities. Green Meadows Academy, part of the Wellspring Academy Trust, is a generic special school based on two sites and 4 partnerships - Green Meadows Primary and Green Meadows Secondary are both based in Guiseley, Leeds. Key Responsibilities 1:1 Support: Deliver tailored sessions outside the classroom to help students manage distress, build self esteem and stay engaged. Behaviour & De-escalation: Apply positive behaviour strategies, manage challenging situations safely and help resolve conflict. Learning & Progress: Help deliver tailored individual plans and specific subjects (like PSHE), while tracking and reporting pupil progress. Classroom Integration: Work with teachers to prepare resources, cover classes during short absences and guide students back into main lessons. What We Are Looking For NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent, or achievable) Willingness to undertake training to meet the requirements of the role e.g. manual handling, first aid training Experience working with children and young people An awareness of the needs of children and young people with learning, sensory and physical difficulties Experience delivering 1:1 or small group interventions for pupils with complex behavioural, emotional or educational needs. Good literacy, numeracy, communication and ICT skills. What We Offer Salary: Pay Grade C3 (SCP 19) £32,061 FTE Actual Salary: £24,191.97 Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only (+5 days).
