Relief Recovery Worker Southampton Zero Hours/ Relief Pay Rate: £13.38 per hour About Us This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Charity and Housing Association . The Society of St James (SSJ) has been working in Hampshire for over 50 years, deliveri ng high-impact, person-centred accommodation services to adults and young people experiencing homelessness, problematic substance use, and mental health problems . The Impact You’ll Make As a Relief Recovery Worker, you will provide crucial, flexible cover across our accommodation services in Southampton . You will step in to help individuals with a history of homelessness get back on their feet by delivering floating and accommodation-based housing support . Working in a trauma-informed way, you will help service users make positive changes, build independence, and access key support services across the city . Who We're Looking For We are looking for an adaptable, empathetic, and enthusiastic individual who can thrive in a dynamic support environment . You should be self-motivated, calm under pressure, and deeply committed to supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs . Essential Skills and Qualities Experience: Previous background working with vulnerable individuals, particularly those experiencing homelessness, mental health issues, or substance misuse . Support Delivery: Knowledge of person-centred support planning, harm minimisation, and trauma-informed care . Safety & Safeguarding: Understanding of risk assessments, managing challenging behaviour, and safeguarding vulnerable adults . Communication & Boundaries: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain professional boundaries and build trusting relationships . Travel Requirements: A valid driving licence is essential for travel between various locations across Southampton; however, we may consider non-drivers for available shifts in other projects within SSJ .
