HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver

We are seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver to join clients team on an ongoing basis. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Class 2, equipped with a HIAB crane, to deliver and unload goods across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving, delivery operations, and handling flatbed loads will ensure timely service and customer satisfaction. • Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle with HIAB crane to transport goods to designated sites.
• Load and unload cargo using the HIAB crane, ensuring secure handling of flatbed and other load types.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards and vehicle compliance.
• Plan delivery routes efficiently, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations.
• Assist with securing loads on flatbeds or other vehicle types as needed for safe transportation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery statuses or any issues encountered.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records in compliance with company policies.

Skills

• Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver with a focus on flatbed or similar load types.
• Valid HGV Class 2 license with up-to-date CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
• Skilled in operating HIAB cranes safely and efficiently, and with appropriate ticket.
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations, safety procedures, and load securing techniques.
• Excellent route planning and time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
• Ability to handle physical tasks involved in loading/unloading cargo with precision.
• Previous experience working as a delivery driver with a focus on customer service is highly desirable.
