School Technician (Temporary)(Part Time)

ADVERTSchool Technician   You will be working in a busy secondary school environment. Good interpersonal skills are required.   Duties include preparing woodwork and metalwork materials and teaching resources for use by teachers and students, mainly within the technical department and on occasion, in Science and other whole school areas. Experience with using industrial equipment, machinery and tools would be advantageous.     You will also be responsible for assisting with the servicing and maintenance of Technical practical areas and workrooms, ensuring that all equipment and materials are presented, maintained and stored in a safe condition and machinery is maintained in good working order.   You will assist the teaching staff within the technical department by preparing materials and equipment for classes and will support the use of raw materials, plus computer aided teaching resources within Technical, Science and other departments where required. You will also be required to keep abreast of Health and Safety legislation. On occasion you may assist with setting up and maintaining of Audio Visual equipment.   You should be educated to HNC level or have relevant experience. In addition, it is expected that the post holder has a good knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations.   You will provide necessary support to the Technical department or any other department within the school as requested by the Head Teacher/ Education Support Manager / Department Head or Nominee.   If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
