Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join the Boots Opticians Finance team as Senior Finance Analyst – Retail, reporting to the Finance Business Partner – Retail & Property.

This role partners the Retail and Operations teams and is pivotal in ensuring the Opticians business makes robust, value-add decisions.

Responsibilities include shaping and influencing decision making via performance insight and challenge, alongside ownership and cost management for the Retail and Operations functions.

What you’ll be doing

• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the Retail and Operations teams and wider Boots Opticians finance team
• Reporting and analysis on Retail initiatives and store/regional metrics, providing insight on the trends and drivers impacting performance at macro and store level to influence decision making
• Working with our FP&A and Financial Control teams to ensure rigorous financial planning and reporting processes (monthly performance, forecast, budget) for the Retail and Operations functions including store level budgets
• Robust management of the Retail and Operations cost base to facilitate and support informed decision making
• Explaining key finance concepts to non-finance colleagues, upskilling the Retail and Operations teams in financial acumen
• Lead the month end close process for payroll and prepare and post month end journals, including accruals, prepayments and cost reallocations
• Prepare quarterly bonus calculations based on agreed performance and incentive schemes
• Support finance projects, process improvements and system implementations
• Support internal and external audit requests by providing financial information and documentation
• Develop and improve financial models and reporting tools
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)

• Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Proactive and organized, with ability to manage competing priorities

It would be great if you also have

• Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Experience of SAP and Power BI would be advantageous
• A relevant finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
