Property Loss Adjuster Location: South of England Working Pattern: Hybrid – Home & Field Based Contract: Permanent Salary: Competitive + Benefits The Opportunity We are currently working with one of the UK's leading loss adjusting firms to recruit an experienced Property Loss Adjuster to join their growing Property team. The business is continuing to grow its Property division and is looking for an experienced professional who can contribute to its continued success. The role offers a combination of home and field-based working, giving you the flexibility to manage your own workload while working as part of an experienced team. You will manage a varied portfolio of domestic and commercial property claims, from initial instruction and investigation through to resolution. You will assess damage, establish the cause of loss, review policy coverage and work towards appropriate settlement outcomes. You will have responsibility for a designated geographical area, while also supporting the wider team when required. Key Responsibilities Carry out property inspections and assess damage at the scene. Establish the cause and circumstances surrounding each claim. Manage a varied portfolio of domestic and commercial property claims through to conclusion. Review policy documentation and determine the appropriate application of cover. Provide clear technical guidance to policyholders, insurers and other stakeholders. Recommend practical and appropriate solutions based on individual claim circumstances. Identify when additional investigations, monitoring or specialist input are required. Arrange and oversee temporary or permanent remedial works where appropriate. Prepare accurate and professional reports within agreed service levels. Keep insurers, policyholders and other relevant parties updated throughout the claims process. Ensure claims are progressed proactively and in line with client requirements. Carry out follow-up inspections where necessary and provide appropriate reports and updates. Appoint, instruct and manage contractors, specialists and other third parties where required. Produce clear written reports and correspondence. Manage customer and stakeholder expectations throughout the claims journey. Take ownership of your caseload and ensure outstanding actions are completed within required timescales. Adapt to changing workloads, client requirements and wider business priorities. Attend relevant client meetings, business meetings and events when required. About You We are looking for an experienced Loss Adjuster or Property Claims professional with strong technical knowledge and a confident, customer-focused approach. You should ideally have: Cert CII and/or Cert CILA. At least 2 years' experience within loss adjusting or property claims. Experience managing both domestic and commercial property claims. Previous experience gained within a loss adjusting, insurer or similar claims environment. Strong knowledge of household and commercial insurance products. A good understanding of property claims assessment and policy coverage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong report-writing and documentation skills. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Good analytical and problem-solving abilities. Confidence when dealing with challenging situations and providing technical advice. The ability to manage a caseload independently and proactively. A professional, self-motivated and customer-focused approach. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the allocated geographical area.
